The Materials Management Manager is responsible for the procurement of cost-effective goods, services and equipment necessary to sustain the organization's services and operations within the established budgetary parameters. This individual is responsible for storage, distribution and proper disposal of company goods and equipment. Professional Duties Provide leadership and oversight to assigned staff. Ensure that the department is adequately staffed and that employees have appropriate resources available. Monitor employee performance. Identify opportunities for improvement and/or professional development and facilitate training. Manage departmental expenses and budget in collaboration with the department Director. Stay abreast of market trends and product information to make recommendations for cost reductions and improved quality of services and goods. Assist with the development and implementation of Materials Management policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient utilization of resources. Manage the printing, storage, and distribution of forms and stationary stationery as needed. Manage the storage, distribution, accounting and disposal of all medical/office supplies and equipment in accordance with hazardous waste guidelines and state and federal guidelines. Oversee the maintenance and assessment of repairs on all medical equipment including Durable Medical Equipment, in accordance with safety guidelines. Ensure that company records are stored and destroyed in accordance with company policy and regulatory requirements. Manage and maintain the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for all areas guaranteeing their accessibility in accordance with company policy and OSHA requirements. Participate as an active member of the safety committee and report MSDS and other hazardous materials issues as needed. Oversee the procurement of cost-effective goods, services and equipment necessary to sustain the organization's services and operations within the established budgetary parameters. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Procurement or closely related field, preferred. 5 years of experience in inventory/materials management within a healthcare setting. 2 years supervisory experience. Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite applications/software (Word, Excel, Power Point, Excel). Ability to utilize Mas 90 and Envi. Ability to communicate effectively with individuals within all levels of the organization, patients, providers, vendors and others. Ability to work independently. Ability to utilize critical thinking and judgement to problem solve. Current California's Driver's License and proof of auto insurance.
