Job Description
Role and Responsibilities The Shipping Manager is responsible for managing all shipping operations from the Milford site, ensuring shipments are timely, accurate, and cost-effective.
Key Duties include:
Lead, coach, and manage the Shipping Team, ensuring optimal resource and workload utilization. Prioritize shipments based on Expected Shipping Date (ESD), ensuring accuracy and on-time delivery. Oversee transportation and maintain relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics providers as needed. Negotiate contracts to achieve the lowest possible cost. Prepare commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin for all international shipments. Provide freight quotations as requested. Maintain accurate records and documentation for all logistics activities. Manage the replenishment process (Kanban) for all packaging material. Communicate order status to Customer Service and Sales as needed. Collaborate with Purchasing, Scheduling, Inventory, Receiving, and Customer Service to ensure alignment across the supply chain. Drive process improvements and cost-saving initiatives within shipping operations. Report and analyze shipping KPIs and identify areas for improvement. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies. Qualifications and Education Requirements 5+ years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, including leadership responsibilities. Strong bias for action and ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Experience with shipping software (PaceJet or similar) required. Experience with NetSuite preferred. Familiarity with barcoding and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) preferred. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of bending, standing, and sitting at a desk while working on a computer. Ability to lift up to 55 pounds. Must wear safety gear, such as goggles and gloves, when handling box cutters or similar tools.
