Job Summary

Job Responsibilities Supervise employees involved in the physical movement of inbound and outbound shipments, including shipments to both domestic and international customers, and distribution centers and branches within the organization

Schedule and coordinate the routing of incoming and outgoing shipments

May negotiate rates, delivery terms, freight rates, and classifications with carriers; analyze service performance

Develop and implement new procedures and methods to reduce costs

Resolve claims for loss or damage

Make recommendations on staffing, performance appraisals, training and development of subordinates, promotions, salary increases, terminations, disciplinary actions, etc

Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization Job Responsibilities Part II

Qualifications Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Must have the ability to present information and respond to questions from management

Demonstrated management skills, particularly "influence management" and "conflict resolution"
