Job Description
Position Summary The Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing and controlling all inventory activities within the organization, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and alignment with production and operational needs. This role plays a critical part in maintaining optimal inventory levels, supporting production schedules, reducing waste, and improving overall supply chain performance. Key Responsibilities Manage and maintain accurate inventory levels for raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods Oversee inventory transactions including receiving, issuing, transfers, and adjustments Develop and implement inventory control procedures and best practices Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories; reconcile discrepancies Collaborate with purchasing, production, and warehouse teams to ensure material availability Monitor inventory usage, trends, and forecasting to prevent shortages or excess stock Optimize inventory storage, organization, and material flow within the facility Ensure proper documentation and tracking within ERP or inventory management systems Investigate and resolve inventory variances, root causes, and process gaps Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase accuracy and efficiency Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and audit requirements Qualifications 3-5+ years of inventory management experience, preferably in manufacturing or industrial environment Strong knowledge of inventory control practices, cycle counting, and reconciliation Experience with ERP systems and inventory management software Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, purchasing, and finance teams High attention to detail and accuracy Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field preferred Equivalent work experience may be considered Experience in metal manufacturing, foundry, or industrial environment is a plus Working Environment Combination of office and shop-floor/warehouse environment Exposure to noise, moving equipment, and industrial conditions Required use of PPE when on the production floor Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility Occasional lifting up to 30-40 lbs Ability to access inventory storage areas and warehouse locations Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Inventory accuracy and record integrity Reduction in inventory discrepancies and variances On-time material availability for production Inventory turnover and carrying cost optimization Cycle count completion and audit performance Benefits & Perks - Supporting You and Your Family Competitive salary (based on experience) Health, dental, and vision insurance Life and disability insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and holidays Professional development and career growth opportunities Stable, team-oriented work environment
