We currently distribute brands from over 65 domestic, craft, and import suppliers of beer, wine, and spirits. Our two state-of-the-art facilities service more than 3,800 retail customers in 25 counties across the state of Illinois. We provide seamless sales, marketing, and distribution opportunities for the top domestic, craft, and specialty beverage suppliers. Privately owned by the same family for over 40 years.

Job Summary:

The Inventory Ordering Manager is responsible for ensuring optimal inventory levels to support sales demand while preventing out-of-stock situations and minimizing excess inventory. This role works closely with the Sales Management team to maintain accurate, rolling package-level sales forecasts and to place timely product orders with multiple suppliers. The Inventory Ordering Manager balances inventory availability against established days-on-hand guidelines and leverages inventory management systems to maintain accurate records and reporting. This position plays a critical role in maintaining product freshness, supplier relationships, and operational efficiency across the warehouse and distribution network.

Essential Functions:

Develop and implement policies and procedures to safeguard inventory accuracy, quality, and integrity. Maintain a rolling sales forecast at the package level in collaboration with Sales Management. Prepare, submit, and manage inventory order requests with breweries and suppliers. Monitor inventory levels and proactively restock products to prevent shortages or stockouts. Oversee proper stock rotation and ensure adherence to product freshness standards. Supervise the transportation and receipt of products from suppliers to the warehouse. Alert the General Manager of potential product dating issues and collaborate on corrective actions. Maintain sufficient on-hand inventory across all packages while adhering to days-on-hand targets. Report sales and inventory data accurately to assigned breweries and suppliers. Create, maintain, and manage brand and package codes within the company database. Utilize inventory management software and reporting tools to maintain accurate inventory records and forecasts.

Required Education and Experience:

Minimum of five (5) years of experience in inventory control or inventory management. Prior experience in the beer distribution industry strongly preferred; experience in consumer goods distribution required. Hands-on experience with warehouse operations and inventory management systems; Encompass experience strongly preferred. Strong ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Physical Requirements:

Able to stay on your feet for extended periods of time. Able to lift 60 lbs. Able to stretch and bend.

Compensation:

$65,000 - 75,000 Annualized (based on experience, plus eligibility for an annual bonus of up to 10% of base salary).
