Within the Sterile Processing Unit—also known as the central sterile services department and the instrument processing center—the Sterile Processing Manager will guide safe decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and distribution workflows that keep the OR, endoscopy, interventional suites, and clinics moving. This SPD Manager role is embedded in an integrated healthcare system with the stability of the largest regional employer and the scalable resources of a 150+ beds hospital, enabling high-acuity exposure, best-practice protocols, and modern instrument tracking technology to elevate quality and turnaround times.

Reporting to the Director of Perioperative Services, the Sterile Processing Manager will lead supervisors, educators, and technicians while partnering closely with friendly nurses, surgeons, anesthesia, infection prevention, materials management, and a diverse team of allied health professionals. As an SPD Manager, responsibilities span AAMI/AORN/Joint Commission compliance, tray optimization, preventative maintenance, productivity metrics, onboarding and competencies, Lean process improvement, and interdisciplinary huddles that translate frontline insights into better patient care.
