KBC is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Supply Inventory Manager. This position will lead functions supporting supply inventory management and logistics operations for the organization. This includes the responsibility for the entire supply chain process and oversight of the courier team which transports blood products and supplies. The position reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Leads a team fulfilling logistics and supply management activities; interviews, selects and hires new employees and ensures completion of training plans; delegates tasks and provides daily guidance and feedback. Evaluates employee performance, and coaches team towards individual and department objectives; responsible for counseling and corrective action. Collaborates with CFO in the establishment of specific short and long-term plans, with supporting budget requests and financial estimates for each area of oversight.
Supply & Inventory Management:
Responsible for the complete supply chain process, with a focus on maximizing efficiency and minimizing costs. This includes ordering, receiving, distribution, and inventory control. Manages operational expenses through ongoing analysis of new and current supply costs, quality, and effectiveness; negotiates with vendors. Adheres to the standards and guidelines issued by state and federal regulatory and accrediting organizations, such as FDA, AABB, and OSHA. Maintains accurate information in inventory system, including quantity, cost and vendor details; reconciles with accounting application and physical inventory counts. Ensures that all departments and locations are appropriately stocked, and that employees always have necessary supplies. Complies with applicable rules and regulations, including supply and supplier qualifications, and consistently maintains adequate inventory levels for critical operations supplies. Leads courier team to provide professional external and internal customer service and the safe, prompt, and accurate transport of blood products and supplies; works with Logistics Supervisor to ensure sufficient route coverage and efficiency. Develops and revises SOPs and employee training plans for assigned departments and monitors for compliance. Acts in the role of Safety Officer, participating in the organization's Safety Committee, and ensuring safe operations in areas of oversight (including warehouse/stockroom, Fleet Safety, Hazard Communications & Chemical Hygiene programs); responsible for obtaining SDSs for all new chemicals introduced to KBC internally or by vendors such as janitorial services. Administers the supply function of NetSuite. Communicates and collaborates to provide good customer service across all organizational levels and departments; coordinates projects and the fulfillment of operational responsibilities. Maintains applicable knowledge of industry trends and best practices through continuous education or monitoring of resources. Participates in special projects and fulfills other responsibilities as assigned. Working Environment & Physical Effort This position requires the ability to: Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time. Fulfill basic clerical duties (typing/writing) for extended periods of time. Occasionally lift/carry up to 50 pounds without assistance. Frequently bend, reach, or crawl to perform various job tasks. Safely ascend/descend a ladder. Analyze complex situations and make sound decisions. Adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure. Work outside in heat, cold, wet, humid, or dry conditions. Occasionally travel to fulfill essential job functions. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required; relevant majors such as Business Administration, Accounting, or Logistics/Supply Chain, preferred. Minimum of 3 years of management experience in a related role, with a background that includes vendor relationship management and price negotiation. Numeric and basic cost accounting skills, to include report development and analysis. Expert level MS Office proficiency, with the ability to navigate and administer web-based applications and proprietary systems. Advanced written and verbal communication skills, general organizational knowledge, and business acumen. Must be at least 23 years of age for liability insurance purposes; valid Kentucky driver's license and safe driving record; occasional business travel within KBC's service area. Ability to work a flexible schedule to include some evenings and weekends, and regular on-call rotation.
