Full Job Description Job Summary:
The Materials Manager is responsible for managing inventory and purchasing procedures of raw materials and other supplies. They will collaborate with other managers to determine supply needs, purchase supplies and materials according to specifications and coordinate and supervise receiving procedures. This position requires frequent contact with suppliers, customers, and shipping providers.Job Responsibilities:
Maintains optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements. Responsible for continuing programs of exploration for new materials, suppliers, and processes to achieve the best possible quality, reliability, prices, continuity, and delivery. Establishes procedures and supervises quarterly physical inventory. Supervise, evaluate and coach staff members. Interfaces with product line coordinators on the planning and forecasting of customer orders to meet shipments. Maintain relationships and negotiate with suppliers. Oversee purchasing of supplies and materials according to specifications. Ensures that the company standard practices and procedures are followed in connection with all materials department functions. Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or related field Minimum 5 years of experience in a logistics role at an automotive manufacturing plant Minimum 3 years of experience in a management level position Proficient with GM and Ford customer portals Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to perform under pressure and within tight time constraints Problem solving abilitiesSimilar remote jobs
