Full-Time About the Role TUYA Technologies is seeking a driven, hands-on General Manager of Last Mile Delivery Operations to oversee our growing Detroit operation. This is not a desk-only management position. The General Manager will be responsible for the daily execution of our Detroit facility, including receiving and processing freight, coordinating delivery routes, managing a network of independent contractor drivers, communicating with customers, and ensuring every shipment is delivered safely, accurately, and on time. We are looking for someone who takes ownership, solves problems quickly, communicates well, and is comfortable operating in a fast-paced logistics environment where every day can look different. The right person will essentially be the owner of the Detroit operation on the ground , while working closely with TUYA leadership. Key Responsibilities Manage the day-to-day operations of TUYA's Detroit delivery facility. Receive incoming freight each morning and ensure shipments are properly scanned, processed, sorted, and prepared for delivery. Build and coordinate efficient daily delivery routes. Manage and communicate with a network of independent contractor delivery drivers. Confirm driver availability and maintain a healthy pool of backup drivers. Dispatch drivers and monitor deliveries throughout the day. Ensure drivers follow TUYA's procedures for scanning, proof of delivery, photos, signatures, and chain of custody. Monitor delivery performance and quickly resolve delays, failed deliveries, driver issues, or customer concerns. Maintain accurate shipment and operational records. Communicate daily with TUYA leadership regarding volume, driver availability, operational issues, and performance. Maintain a clean, organized, secure, and professional facility. Recruit and assist with onboarding additional independent contractors as the operation grows. Build strong working relationships with drivers, customers, and TUYA's corporate team. Identify ways to improve efficiency, driver performance, delivery times, and overall operation quality. Take ownership of the operation and step in wherever needed to ensure the job gets done. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, confident, and comfortable leading people. Experience in logistics, transportation, delivery operations, warehousing, dispatching, fleet management, or last-mile delivery is strongly preferred.

You should be someone who:

Takes ownership without needing constant supervision. Is highly organized and able to manage multiple moving parts at once. Can communicate professionally with customers, drivers, and company leadership. Is comfortable managing independent contractors and holding drivers accountable. Can remain calm and solve problems when unexpected issues arise. Understands the importance of customer service and on-time delivery. Is comfortable using computers, smartphones, spreadsheets, and delivery management software. Has strong leadership and decision-making skills. Is willing to be hands-on and help with freight, sorting, dispatching, or deliveries when necessary. Wants the opportunity to help build and grow an operation rather than simply maintain one. Preferred Experience Last-mile delivery Courier operations Transportation or logistics Dispatching Warehouse operations Route planning Independent contractor management Fleet or driver management Operations management Previous experience with companies such as FedEx, UPS, Amazon DSPs, courier companies, final-mile delivery companies, 3PLs, freight forwarders, or similar transportation businesses is a plus. Schedule This is a full-time, on-site position. The operation primarily runs Monday through Friday , with hours based on daily freight volume and customer requirements.
