Pontiac, Michigan onsite at Pontiac StampingCompensation;Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to oversee indirect materials operations at our client facility. This role involves supervising staff, managing inventory operations, and ensuring efficient dock receiving, shipping, and material movement processes. The successful candidate will lead daily operations while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Key ResponsibilitiesDaily Operations ManagementSupervise indirect materials operations team and manage daily attendance trackingOversee dock receiving, shipping, and material inventory processesConduct daily team meetings and provide coaching to employeesReview and approve time clock entries for payroll processingMonitor and resolve operational issues with Dock/Crib/MRP processesInventory & Materials ManagementExecute daily scanning operations using scan sheetsCreate shipping documentation for outbound materialsConduct part lookups for customer requirementsFollow up on open purchase orders and non-conformance issuesEnsure completion of annual cycle counts and maintain inventory accuracySupport MRP Planner and WRA Coordinator functionsReporting & CommunicationCompile and distribute End of Shift (EOS) reportsMaintain and update Level 4/5 BPD boards and IMM OT Equalization sheetsProcess monthly shipper requests (Libra/Crystal Water)Review Unsourced Templates from MRP before sending to IMLAttend weekly JLL BPD reviews and monthly staff meetingsQuality & ComplianceConduct
SIF/GCTA
reviews with team membersComplete layered audits with team membersReview and update standardized work proceduresComplete required annual training programsProcess 2209 movement documentationStakeholder ManagementAttend weekly IMM meetings with IMLCoordinate with UAW representatives on current eventsAddress Crystal Water/Aramark operational issuesConduct weekly TIS reviews with team
Required Skills & Qualifications Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required3+ years of supervisory experience in warehouse/materials management operations2+ years of experience in indirect materials or MRO inventory management
Technical Skills:
Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory management softwareExperience with MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systemsKnowledge of shipping/receiving procedures and documentationFamiliarity with barcode scanning systems and inventory tracking
Leadership & Communication:
Proven ability to supervise and develop team membersStrong verbal and written communication skillsExperience conducting performance reviews and employee coachingAbility to facilitate meetings and present information clearly
Operational Skills:
Understanding of dock operations, shipping, and receiving processesKnowledge of inventory control principles and cycle counting proceduresExperience with purchase order management and supplier coordinationFamiliarity with non-conformance and quality control processes
Preferred Skills & Qualifications Advanced Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or related field5+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing or industrial environmentExperience with union workforce managementCertification in inventory management (APICS, CPIM) or supply chain management
Technical Expertise:
Advanced proficiency with SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systemsExperience with 3PL (Third Party Logistics) operationsKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologiesFamiliarity with safety management and OSHA compliance
Industry Knowledge:
Experience in automotive, aerospace, or heavy manufacturing industriesUnderstanding of indirect materials and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Operations) categoriesKnowledge of contract logistics and client facility managementExperience with vendor management and supplier relationship...
