Inventory Manager Peerless Steel - 3.3 Troy, MI Job Details Full-time $75,000 - $85,000 a year 4 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance Qualifications Inventory analysis Power BI Inventory control Cycle counting inventory management ERP systems Managing teams in warehouse setting Inventory management reporting (product management technique) Full Job Description The Inventory Manager is responsible for maintaining the overall accuracy of inventory at all Peerless locations. This includes training new and existing employees on proper handheld procedures to support accurate allocation of material to work orders, properly deducting scrap material in SM3, developing and managing cycle counting and inventory accuracy reports, maximizing safe vertical storage, and optimizing the proximity of material to production saws.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and oversee Inventory coordinator at each Peerless facility, while working alongside the Team in their daily effort Gain an extensive and highly detailed understanding of our inventory product needs, levels, and control systems. Monitor and maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counting, root cause analysis and corrective actions Manage and oversee physical inventory counts and reconciliation at multiple locations on multiple dates per year Engage sales and other departments within the company (i.e., Manufacturing Warehouse, Sales, etc.,) Drive material flow improvements across receiving, warehouse and production interfaces
  • Responsible for understanding and adhering to business operating procedures
  • Any other activities, projects, etc., as determined by the VP of Operations
  • Work with Receiving Dept to optimize receiving and racking processes
  • Maintain inventory stored outside in a safe and organized manner
  • Manage inside inventory to optimize location and maximize pan capacity
  • Develop and manage processes to minimize material stored on the floor
  • Conduct hand rack and bar rack audits to ensure clear material identification and eliminate over capacity
  • Work with auditors and banks during year all inventory audits
  • Develop and manage stock check processes at each location
  • Develop and manage "scrap rules" for plate and bar products
  • Working with Quality Manager to ensure adequate isolation and reconciliation of quarantined material
Pay:
$75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
