Materials Management, including Central Supply and Purchasing; plays a critical role in keeping our hospitals and clinics running smoothly by ensuring the right supplies are available at the right place and time to support high-quality patient care. Our team manages and supports over 200 PAR locations across Freeman West, Freeman East, Freeman Neosho, Pittsburg Surgical Center, Freeman Ft. Scott and multiple surgery centers and clinics. From receiving and distribution to inventory management and point-of-care supply support, we are a key partner to clinical teams and operational leaders across the organization. Materials Management operates in a dynamic, fast-paced environment that requires adaptability, teamwork, and a focus on supporting patient care and operational excellence. Team members work closely with nursing, surgery, and ancillary departments to respond to urgent needs, maintain accurate inventory levels, and continuously improve supply chain processes that impact patient outcomes. What You'll Do Solicits clinical supply bids, analyzes, presents and develops strategy for implementation of supply changes approved by the SURP committee, of which this position is the chair. Enhances product workflow by analyzing and developing logistics plans for evaluations and conversions that affect manufacturer production and change at the system level including communication, education, distribution and inventory. Coordinates procedures for supply conversion and inventory management with Purchasing and Central Supply to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize cost. Familiar with a variety of Materials Management concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. Reports to Supply Chain Operations Manager. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Requirement Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in an acute care setting, (ICU, Medical/Surgical or Emergency Department nursing preferred). Preferred Requirement Bachelor's degree in nursing or other clinical discipline and/or management preferred.
