Job Description
Jimmy's Gourmet Bakery in Wyckoff, NJ is seeking an Inventory Control Team Lead to oversee ingredient and packaging inventory in our busy manufacturing facility. In this hands-on role, you'll lead daily inventory activities, including cycle counts, reconciliation, and coordination with production and purchasing to ensure the right materials are available at the right time. You'll investigate discrepancies, support physical inventories, and help maintain compliance with food safety and customer requirements. This position is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, ERP experience, and a passion for quality, teamwork, and reliable operations in a growing food manufacturer. Responsibilities Lead daily inventory control activities for ingredients and packaging in a high-volume bakery environment Monitor stock levels, perform cycle counts, and reconcile variances in ERP/inventory systems Coordinate with production, purchasing, and warehouse teams to ensure materials availability and minimize stockouts Investigate inventory discrepancies, implement root-cause fixes, and maintain accurate records Oversee receiving, storage, and rotation practices to support food safety and quality standards Prepare inventory reports and KPIs for operations and management review Train and guide inventory clerks and material handlers on procedures and best practices Support physical inventories and audits, ensuring compliance with company policies and customer requirements Identify process improvements to increase accuracy, reduce waste, and improve efficiency Collaborate with quality and production teams to manage holds, write-offs, and traceability requirements Required Skills Inventory management Cycle counting ERP/MRP systems Data analysis and reporting (Excel or similar) Warehouse operations Root cause analysis Food manufacturing or GMP knowledge Leadership and team coordination Receiving and material handling processes Documentation and recordkeeping
