This pivotal role involves managing end-to-end supply chain processes related to the movement of goods across borders, ensuring compliance with global trade regulations, and optimizing transportation and warehouse activities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in supply chain management, logistics coordination, and vendor relations, driving efficiency and cost savings while maintaining high standards of service. Duties Oversee all aspects of export and import operations, including documentation, customs clearance, and compliance with international trade laws. Coordinate transportation management systems (TMS) to plan, execute, and monitor shipments efficiently across multiple regions. Manage relationships with freight forwarders, NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier), 3PL providers, and customs brokers to ensure timely delivery and cost-effective solutions. Utilize data analysis skills and SQL to collect, analyze, and report on supply chain analytics, identifying opportunities for process improvement. Lead procurement activities related to sourcing materials, negotiating contracts with vendors, and managing procurement workflows within ERP systems like AS400 or SAP. Optimize warehouse distribution processes by implementing inventory management strategies such as MRP (Material Requirements Planning), inventory control, and demand planning. Conduct root cause analysis for supply chain disruptions or delays, developing corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Ensure accurate shipping & receiving procedures are followed, including freight management, stocking levels, and order fulfillment accuracy. Monitor pricing strategies and negotiate terms with suppliers to maximize profit margins while maintaining quality standards. Drive continuous process improvements in logistics operations through category management and supply chain analytics initiatives. Skills Extensive experience with supply chain management principles and logistics operations across international markets. Proficiency in transportation planning tools, warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP platforms like SAP or AS400, and transportation management systems (TMS). Strong data collection and analysis skills using tools such as Tableau or SQL for reporting insights that inform decision-making. Knowledge of warehouse experience including materials handling, inventory management, shipping & receiving procedures, and warehouse distribution best practices. Ability to negotiate effectively with vendors, freight carriers, 3PL providers, and customs authorities to secure favorable terms. Mechanical knowledge related to transportation equipment such as forklifts or other warehouse machinery is a plus. Excellent analytical skills with a focus on root cause analysis for process optimization; familiarity with demand planning and production planning is advantageous. Strong understanding of contracts, vendor management strategies, procurement processes, and supply chain compliance standards. Effective communication skills for coordinating across multiple departments including sourcing, logistics, procurement, and warehouse teams. Familiarity with e-commerce logistics trends such as order fulfillment strategies and supply chain analytics to support rapid growth initiatives.
