Materials Manager

Multi-Specialty Ambulatory Surgery Center located in Rockaway Park, NY is seeking a Materials Manager.

Position Summary:

Will collaborate with the Center's Administrator, DON, clinical staff, and Surgicore's centralized Purchasing, Finance and Accounting personnel Materials Manager will evaluate the Center's daily activities to ensure adequate supplies and equipment are provided to complete surgical cases.

Responsibilities:

Orders materials utilizing Order and Inventory Management System (currently ENVI) Inputs and maintains data for Physician Preference Cards and Orders in Electronic EMR System (currently SIS) Ensures inventory levels (supplies and medications) are adequate to support weekly surgical case load. Establish & maintain a maintenance schedule for instruments and equipment. Manage shipping & receiving personnel Reviews booking sheets and/or preference cards with DON and clinical staff to ensure all materials required for cases are complete and noted appropriately Establish relationships with local vendors' representatives. Schedule Vendor Reps for case coverage on day of procedure Ensures all material storage/medication rooms are kept in an orderly and secure manner Prepares cost analyses, when requested, for review by DON and Center administration. Maintains inventory reconciliation of every case in SIS Working with materials personnel and Administrator to ensure all material related invoices and/or statements are correct, approved and submitted to Corporate accounting in a timely manner (weekly). Resolve discrepancies between any purchase orders and orders received (packing slips). Makes recommendation for improvements regarding the management of supplies and equipment. Must be able to communicate with Physicians and Vendors Maintains confidentiality of all patient and Center's communications/documents. Educational and Professional Requirements High School Diploma required. Bachelor's Degree preferred Minimum 1 year experience in the role of a Materials Manager in a healthcare setting preferably a multispecialty Ambulatory Surgery Center Understanding of Medical Surgical supplies terminology preferred Must be able to deal tactfully with patient's physicians, visitors and general public Good communication and organizational skills Experience in shipping and receiving Familiarity with inventory management concepts and practices preferred Excellent organizational skills necessary § Ability to lift to 50 lbs. is required

Pay:

$75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
