Job Description

The Inventory Control & Quality Analyst is responsible for ensuring inventory accuracy, quality compliance, and regulatory adherence within the distribution center. This role oversees inventory controls, audits, discrepancy resolution, reverse logistics, and quality/rework operations while collaborating cross‑functionally with Finance, Warehouse Operations, Procurement, Sales, and Quality teams to support business objectives. Essential Job Responsibilities Inventory Control & Accuracy Communicate and enforce all departmental safety policies and procedures. Oversee physical and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy. Investigate, analyze root causes, and correct inventory discrepancies related to shortages, overages, damage, or loss. Implement corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurring inventory discrepancies. Review and correct inventory imbalances. Respond promptly to inventory‑related inquiries from Warehouse Staff, Order Management, Sales, and Senior Management. Monitor and adjust inventory counts in real time in response to dropped pallets, or damaged product. Track and report inventory metrics including turns, aged inventory, seasonal readiness, and high‑velocity stock. Quality, Returns & Reverse Logistics Oversee the isolation and control of returned, recalled, quarantined, and rework products. Direct warehouse and quality staff in corrective actions leading to final disposition (return to A‑stock, liquidation, or scrap).
Conduct inventory quality audits including:
Inventory accuracy checks Damage segregation and disposition Outbound quality inspections (pallet quality, overhang, wrapping, strapping, and load security) Ensure compliance with SOP documentation related to receiving discrepancies, shortages, and damages. Warehouse Systems & Item Master Management Maintain, manage, and improve item master data including Ti‑Hi, stack height, pallet configuration, and storage locations. Recommend product placement strategies for seasonal, rework, quarantined, and high‑turn inventory to optimize space and efficiency. Monitor and manage warehouse supply inventory (pallets, stretch wrap, labels, etc.) and track usage levels. Collaboration & Communication Partner with Warehouse Operations, Procurement, and Quality/Rework teams to resolve inventory and quality issues efficiently. Monitor productivity of quality and rework staff, ensuring value‑added work is completed timely, within budget, and to defined standards. Address performance or process gaps swiftly, professionally, and constructively. Reporting, Systems & Data Management Maintain, update, and manage inventory, quality, and operational tracking tools using Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets. Develop, update, and maintain complex spreadsheets to support inventory control, audits, rework tracking, and essential item model information. Ensure accuracy, version control, and data integrity across shared spreadsheets and reporting tools. Produce and distribute daily KPI reports related to inventory accuracy, quality performance, rework productivity, inventory aging, and various other operational metrics. Analyze spreadsheet data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities; escalate findings to management as needed. Continuously improve spreadsheet efficiency through formulas, dashboards, and standardized reporting formats. Qualifications & Skills Required Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control systems, and quality processes. Experience with cycle counting, physical inventories, and audit execution. Proven ability to analyze data, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to work cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced distribution environment. Proficiency with WMS and inventory management systems. Preferred Prior supervisory or lead experience in a distribution or warehouse environment. Experience supporting reverse logistics, rework operations, and quality audits. Familiarity with safety, quality, and inventory best practices in high‑volume DCs. Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
