Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supply Chain Inbound Transportation Supervisor to oversee and optimize the inbound logistics operations within our supply chain network. This pivotal role involves managing transportation planning, coordinating with third-party logistics providers, and ensuring the efficient receipt and handling of inbound materials. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of transportation management systems, and a comprehensive understanding of warehouse and inventory management processes. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to process improvement initiatives, support continuous improvement efforts, and drive operational excellence across the inbound supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise daily inbound transportation activities, including freight scheduling, dispatching, and delivery coordination Collaborate with 3PL providers, NVOCCs (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carriers), and carriers to ensure timely and cost-effective shipments Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) and ERP systems to plan, track, and optimize inbound freight movements Monitor freight costs, manage budgets, and support procurement processes related to inbound logistics Oversee warehouse receiving operations, ensuring accurate inventory control and proper documentation Lead process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency, reducing waste, and implementing lean methodologies Coordinate with demand planning, production planning, and distribution teams to align inbound schedules with operational needs Manage inventory management systems to ensure accurate stock levels and facilitate seamless warehouse distribution Supervise warehouse staff involved in shipping & receiving activities, forklift operation, and materials handling Analyze supply chain data using supply chain analytics tools to identify opportunities for continuous improvement Qualifications Proven supervisory experience in warehouse or logistics operations with a focus on inbound transportation Strong understanding of transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), and ERP platforms such as AS400 Knowledge of supply chain management principles including inventory management, distribution management, procurement, and freight operations Experience working with 3PL providers, NVOCCs, fleet management, and freight forwarding processes Familiarity with process management methodologies such as lean and continuous improvement initiatives Proficiency in supply chain analytics tools for data-driven decision-making Ability to manage budgets effectively within profit & loss frameworks Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in dispatching, order fulfillment, and shipping & receiving procedures Strong leadership capabilities with supervising experience in fast-paced logistics environments Knowledge of procurement processes, purchasing strategies, and materials management practices Join our team as a Supply Chain Inbound Transportation Supervisor to lead impactful logistics operations that support our company's growth.
