Position Description Micro-Tech Endoscopy (MTAm) is growing at an extremely rapid pace, and we are searching for a talented Demand Planning Manager (DPM) to own and continue to build our demand planning and forecasting capabilities. Reporting to the Senior Director of Operations, this is a high-impact opportunity to shape and advance Micro-Tech's planning processes while improving forecast accuracy, inventory health, customer service, working capital, and supply continuity. The DPM will lead the demand planning portion of the
S&OP/IBP
process and partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Product, and global teams to develop effective plans and strategies that support business growth. The successful candidate will bring strong statistical and analytical expertise, with a deep understanding of demand forecasting methodologies, forecasting models, and the factors that drive demand variability. This leader will balance strategic thinking with hands-on engagement in critical planning initiatives and execution while managing, coaching, and developing a small team of planning and transportation specialists. The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, adaptable, collaborative, and an excellent communicator, with the ability to adjust planning approaches as business conditions, customer needs, and market factors change. Responsibilities Lead the demand planning component of the
S&OP/IBP
process, facilitating cross-functional consensus on demand, identifying risks and opportunities, and providing actionable recommendations to senior leadership. Partner with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Product teams to develop demand plans for new product introductions, product transitions, and product lifecycle changes. Develop and maintain forecasting models using historical data, market trends, and business insights to improve forecast accuracy. Develop demand scenarios and sensitivity analyses to evaluate changes in market demand, promotions, product launches, supply constraints, and other business conditions, providing recommendations to support decision-making. Establish, monitor, and continuously improve demand planning KPIs, including forecast accuracy, forecast bias, and other key planning metrics. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on forecasting processes, systems, reporting, and supply chain efficiency. Create and maintain dashboards and reports that provide visibility into demand planning, inventory health, and supply chain performance. Support inventory optimization efforts to balance product availability, working capital, and cost objectives. Lead risk assessment and mitigation activities related to supply, demand, and inventory planning. Lead and oversee transportation planning and logistics activities, ensuring timely and cost-effective movement of products while coordinating with internal stakeholders, carriers, suppliers, and other external partners. Manage, coach, and develop team members, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning. Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure effective communication and execution of demand plans. Support strategic business initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or other relevant fields. 5+ years of demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain planning experience. 2+ years of experience using demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain planning systems. 2+ years of experience managing and developing employees. Experience participating in
S&OP/IBP
processes. Comprehensive understanding of inventory management practices and procedures. Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP/planning systems. Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge. Willingness to work successfully within a fast-paced team setting, contributing skills and abilities when needed. Excellent written and verbal communication skills: ability to modify communication style to accommodate diverse audiences. Occasional evenings or weekend availability may be required to support collaboration with international partners. 10-15% annual travel to suppliers, manufacturers, and our Ann Arbor office.
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years of experience working with international manufacturers, shipping, and import/export affairs. Experience leading in
S&OP/IBP
processes. Experience working with SAP and/or Oracle is strongly preferred. Experience with Power BI, SQL, or other data visualization and analytics tools. Mandarin language proficiency preferred to support communication with global partners. Medical device or other regulated industry experience.
