60 days About Aspire XDock Aspire XDock is a growing cross dock operations company focused on building high performance terminal operations that support fast paced freight movement for large scale distribution networks. We are seeking a strong operational leader to support the launch and ongoing management of a new terminal in Cranston, Rhode Island. Position Overview The Terminal Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, safety, and operational success of the terminal. This role oversees all dock, yard, gate, and operational functions to ensure efficient freight flow, customer service, safety compliance, and employee performance. The selected candidate will initially complete training at an existing Aspire XDock location in another state prior to the Cranston terminal opening. The official launch date for the Cranston operation is currently to be determined. The Terminal Manager must be comfortable leading within a fast-paced startup and launch environment while executing established company procedures, operational standards, and customer requirements. Although Aspire XDock utilizes standardized processes and SOPs across operations, each terminal launch requires strong leadership and adaptability to support site specific operational needs. Essential Job Functions Lead all day-to-day terminal operations including dock, yard, and gate activities Ensure safe, efficient, and accurate freight movement Drive terminal performance related to safety, productivity, service, trailer flow, and quality metrics Hire, train, coach, and develop supervisors and hourly employees Maintain a visible leadership presence throughout the terminal Ensure staffing levels align with operational demand and service expectations Monitor labor hours, scheduling, and overall terminal efficiency Monitor and manage KPIs, labor utilization, and operational efficiency to meet customer and company expectations Utilize operational systems, handheld scanners, and reporting tools to support real-time terminal management and performance tracking Analyze performance trends and implement corrective actions to improve operational results Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs, safety standards, and customer requirements Partner with recruiting and HR teams to support staffing efforts and hiring initiatives Conduct performance management and corrective action when necessary Execute and maintain established operational procedures and launch standards while supporting site specific operational requirements Maintain professional communication with customers, drivers, vendors, and internal leadership Promote a culture of accountability, urgency, teamwork, and safety Qualifications Previous terminal, warehouse, logistics, transportation, or cross dock leadership experience required Experience managing supervisors and large hourly teams preferred Experience working with warehouse management systems, handheld RF scanners, and operational reporting tools preferred Experience managing productivity and performance metrics within a transportation or cross dock environment preferred Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Experience with safety programs, performance metrics, staffing management, and employee development Proficiency with Microsoft Office and operational systems Ability to travel for training and launch preparation Work Environment Fast paced cross dock and transportation environment Combination of office and operational floor responsibilities Ability to work flexible hours based on operational needs Must be available to support day, night, weekend, and holiday operations as needed Training & Launch Information Initial training will take place at an existing Aspire XDock terminal located in another state Travel for initial training and launch support will be required prior to terminal opening Cranston terminal opening timeline is currently being finalized Additional responsibilities may be assigned to support terminal startup and launch activities Why Join Aspire XDock?
