Position Summary The Logistics Supervisor - International is responsible for overseeing and optimizing end‑to‑end international transportation flows, from global suppliers to AFL manufacturing locations and customers worldwide. This role provides leadership within the logistics team, manages strategic relationships with freight forwarders and service providers, and drives continuous improvement in service, cost, and operational performance. This is a hands-on supervisory role suited for an experienced logistics professional who thrives in a fast‑paced, high‑visibility environment where logistics touches nearly every function of the business. Key Responsibilities International Transportation & Operations Lead and oversee international inbound and outbound freight operations (air and ocean) supporting suppliers, AFL facilities, and global customers Ensure compliant, on-time, and cost-effective movement of raw materials and finished goods across global trade lanes Proactively manage critical and time-sensitive shipments for data center and AI customers with aggressive delivery commitments Provide escalation support and resolution for service disruptions, delays, or carrier performance issues Strategic Carrier & Forwarder Management Serve as the primary point of contact for freight forwarders, carriers, and logistics service providers Develop and maintain strategic partnerships focused on service reliability, scalability, and cost competitiveness Lead carrier performance reviews using defined KPIs (OTIF, transit time, cost, claims, responsiveness) Support sourcing events, rate negotiations, and contract renewals in collaboration with procurement and leadership Cost Control & Continuous Improvement Drive freight cost optimization initiatives across modes, lanes, and shipment profiles Oversee freight audit and invoice approval processes; partner with 3PLs to ensure accuracy and savings realization Track, report, and communicate freight accruals, budget performance, and realized cost savings Analyze logistics data to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements Recommend and implement transportation strategies aligned with AFL's growth and customer demands Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration Provide daily leadership, guidance, and mentoring to logistics specialists Set priorities, manage workload, and ensure execution of daily operational requirements Collaborate cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, Sales, Customer Service, and Finance Communicate clearly with internal stakeholders on shipment status, risks, and mitigation plans Systems, Reporting & Compliance Utilize Oracle, TMS platforms, vendor systems, and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Outlook, Teams) to manage operations and reporting Establish, track, and report key logistics KPIs related to service, cost, and customer satisfaction Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, Incoterms, and internal policies Support continuous improvement of logistics systems, reporting tools, and standard work Qualifications & Experience Required Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or equivalent experience 5+ years of progressive logistics experience, with a strong focus on international freight Prior experience working directly with freight forwarders and global carriers Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-growth environment Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Preferred Previous lead or supervisory experience Familiarity with freight audit, accruals, and cost reporting Experience driving logistics process improvements or cost optimization initiatives Skills & Competencies Strategic thinking with a strong operational execution mindset Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Strong negotiation and relationship management capabilities High attention to detail with the ability to see the big picture Comfortable working through ambiguity and rapid change What We Offer Hybrid in-office work schedule (for qualifying employees) Flexible time off policy 401(k) with company match (up to 4%, dollar for dollar) Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance Professional development and tuition reimbursement programs Career growth opportunities with a global industry leader
