Job Description

Logistics Supervisor, 2nd shift Job Summary
The Logistics Supervisor - 2nd Shift is responsible for overseeing and executing the daily operations of the Materials and Logistics Department during second shift. This position ensures accurate inventory control, timely material flow, and efficient shipping/receiving operations while leading and supporting shift personnel to meet production and customer requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities Supervise and support second shift shipping, receiving, and material handling personnel to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to company standards.
Monitor production entries, receipts, scrap, and other inventory transactions to maintain accurate inventory levels.
Coordinate with Production, Scheduling, and Quality teams to ensure proper material flow and resolve discrepancies.
Ensure incoming materials are received, verified, and stocked accurately and in a timely manner.
Monitor supplier deliveries and carrier performance to ensure on-time delivery and quickly resolve any issues.
Expedite incoming materials as needed to prevent production disruptions.
Review customer pull signals and assist in preparing load sheets to ensure accurate and timely shipments.
Ensure all outbound shipments are properly documented, labeled, and meet customer requirements; confirm ASN accuracy and timeliness.
Assist in maintaining accurate inventory through cycle counts and support investigations of variances.
Support inventory control of new engineering-level parts and ensure proper system setup and tracking.
Enforce company policies, safety standards, and work procedures across the team.
Assist in developing and maintaining standard operating procedures for shipping, receiving, and material flow.
Train, coach, and evaluate team members to ensure performance expectations are met.
Participate in layered process audits and support internal and external audits (ISO/TS 16949, VDA 6.3, customer-specific requirements).
Communicate shift performance and key issues to management and incoming shifts.
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. Education and Experience Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred (OR)
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in logistics, materials, or inventory control within a manufacturing environment
Prior supervisory or team lead experience required
Automotive manufacturing experience preferred
