Job Description Summary:
Management of supplies needed for surgical procedures specific to Resource Maps when necessary. Monitors and stock supplies to facilitate age specific patient care when necessary. Responsible for assigned shifts as scheduled. Employee is subject to call back and overtime as required by the hospital.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Assesses, organizes, and maintains surgical supplies and inventory on a daily basis to facilitate age specific patient care when necessary. Maintains and manages supplies in Jax Pax based on coordinator request. Assures all supplies are properly located according to bin location. Assures all instrument trays are properly located according to bin location. Assembly of supplies needed on surgical procedures specific to Resource Maps, monitoring and stocking supplies to facilitate age specific care when needed. Maintains supply availability for scheduled and additional cases. Assumes responsibility for ensuring continued occupational growth, department specific. Manages all supplies for all specialties, makes decisions as to what inventory needs to be ordered and maintains supplies to meet PAR levels. Direct oversight of all inventories and establishes PAR levels. Responsible for maintaining our supplies within budgetary constraints and for recommending, reviewing and researching supplies in accordance with the surgeon's needs. Submits budgetary recommendations for supplies and instruments to Surgical Services Supply Coordinator as determined by monitoring supply/instrument usage throughout the year. Contributes to a positive work environment and the overall team effort of the department. Responds and communicates well with co-workers and other departments. Performs related responsibilities as required or directed.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
Language and logical skills in the technical field of computer software and equipment in addition to secretarial skills as normally acquired through 2 years of college or equivalent experience as acquired through 4 years in a related materials management inventory control field.
LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION

EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Knowledge of inventory control as acquired through 2-4 years in hospital materials management
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Basic computer skills Knowledge of Materials Management software programs Ability to read, write, perform mathematical calculations Must possess excellent organizational and analytical ability
INTERPERSONAL REQUIREMENTS
Effective interpersonal communication skill used on a daily basis while interacting with personnel, administration, and other hospital departments Contributes to a positive work environment and the overall team effort of the department
DIRECTION/SUPERVISION REQUIREMENTS

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to maintain a fixed sitting position for 1-2 hours Ability to perform medium to heavy lifting of 50 pounds or more with assistance Occasional reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling and crouching
