Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Parts Manager to lead our dealership's parts department with enthusiasm and precision. In this pivotal role, you will oversee inventory control, procurement, and supplier relationships to ensure the seamless availability of automotive parts and accessories. Your expertise will drive efficiency, optimize supply chain processes, and elevate customer service standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to manage a vital component of our automotive service operation, ensuring that our team has the parts they need to deliver exceptional service and maintain operational excellence. Duties Manage the daily operations of the parts department, including inventory management, order processing, and shipping & receiving activities. Develop and maintain strong relationships with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) suppliers and other vendors to secure competitive pricing and reliable supply chains. Oversee procurement management, sourcing strategies, demand planning, and pricing negotiations to maximize profitability. Utilize ERP systems, order management systems, CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), AS400, and other inventory control tools to track stock levels and streamline workflows. Coordinate warehouse management tasks such as inventory control, warehouse experience optimization, forklift operation, and equipment repair when necessary. Implement logistics strategies for shipping & receiving operations to ensure timely delivery of parts while maintaining compliance with safety standards like HVAC or automotive diagnostics requirements. Lead efforts in automotive repair parts sourcing for dealership service departments, including auto body repair supplies and OEM parts. Conduct data entry accurately within various systems to maintain precise records of inventory levels, purchase orders, pricing agreements, and supplier information. Monitor demand planning trends to anticipate future needs and adjust procurement strategies accordingly. Ensure excellent customer service by providing technical support on automotive diagnostics or mechanical knowledge inquiries when needed. Skills Extensive knowledge of supply chain management principles within an automotive dealership environment. Proven experience in supplier management, negotiation skills, and sourcing strategies for automotive parts. Strong understanding of automotive diagnostics, auto body repair processes, and OEM specifications. Proficiency with warehouse management systems, ERP platforms (such as AS400), CMMS tools, and order management systems. Ability to operate forklifts safely and efficiently; familiarity with equipment repair is a plus. Knowledge of inventory management techniques including demand planning, inventory control, and purchasing procedures. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on dealership service needs and internal stakeholder support. Mechanical aptitude combined with data entry accuracy for maintaining detailed records. Familiarity with logistics operations such as shipping & receiving procedures and transportation coordination. Strong negotiation skills for pricing agreements and supplier contracts; experience in procurement management is highly desirable. $46,631.87 - $96,000.00 per year
