Full Job Description About Us:
We are a fast-growing contract manufacturing company specializing in the production of beverages, dietary supplements, powders, and liquid products for a diverse portfolio of clients. With multiple production lines and a wide range of SKUs, we operate in a highly regulated, fast-paced environment (FDA, SQF, NSF) where precision, traceability, and efficiency are critical.Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Inventory Control Manager to oversee all aspects of inventory accuracy, control, and optimization across our facility. This role is critical to ensuring seamless production operations by managing raw materials, packaging components, and finished goods within our ERP system. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in manufacturing environments—preferably in food, beverage, or supplement industries—and a strong understanding of inventory systems, lot traceability, and regulatory compliance. This role requires a strong on-the-floor presence, and the candidate should be comfortable spending a significant portion of the day in the warehouse to observe operations firsthand, collaborate with the team, and fully understand the workflow.Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management & Accuracy:
Own and maintain accurate inventory levels for all raw materials, packaging components, and finished goods. Implement and enforce cycle count programs, physical inventories, and reconciliation processes. Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, root causes, and process breakdowns. Ensure proper lot tracking, FIFO/FEFO adherence, and full traceability across all materials.ERP System Ownership:
Manage and optimize inventory processes within the ERP system. Ensure real-time accuracy of inventory transactions (receiving, production consumption, adjustments, transfers). Collaborate with IT/operations to improve system workflows, reporting, and automation. Train team members on proper ERP usage and inventory procedures.Production & Operations Support:
Work closely with production, procurement, and planning teams to ensure material availability. Align inventory levels with production schedules and forecast demand. Prevent line downtime due to material shortages or inaccuracies. Support kitting operations (e.g., combining bottles, packaging, and accessories for final assembly).Receiving, Storage & Warehousing:
Oversee inbound receiving processes, including inspection, documentation, and system entry. Ensure proper storage conditions for ingredients and packaging materials. Optimize warehouse layout for efficiency, accessibility, and compliance. Maintain clean, organized, and audit-ready inventory areas.Compliance & Quality:
Ensure compliance with FDA, SQF, NSF, and internal quality standards. Maintain accurate documentation for audits, recalls, and regulatory requirements. Partner with the Quality team on material holds, quarantines, and releases.Team Leadership:
Ownership of inventory accuracy, counting, reconciliation, and system discipline. Establish KPIs (inventory accuracy, shrinkage, count compliance, etc.). Drive accountability, process discipline, and continuous improvement.Continuous Improvement:
Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements to reduce waste and errors. Introduce best practices in inventory control, lean warehousing, and material flow. Analyze inventory trends and recommend strategies to reduce excess or obsolete stock.Qualifications:
Required:
5+ years of inventory control experience in a manufacturing environment. 2+ years in a leadership or managerial role. Experience with ERP systems (Aptean, Katana, Netsuite, or similar). Strong understanding of lot tracking, traceability, FIFO/FEFO. Experience managing raw materials and packaging components. Advanced Excel/data analysis skills. Proven ability to troubleshoot discrepancies and improve processes.Preferred:
Experience in food, beverage, dietary supplements, or CPG manufacturing. Familiarity with FDA, SQF, or GMP regulations. Experience in high-SKU, multi-client (contract manufacturing) environments. Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement background.Key Competencies:
High attention to detail and accuracy. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-variability environment. Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration. Process-driven with a continuous improvement mindset.Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive salary (based on experience). Performance-based bonuses. Health, dental, and vision insurance. Paid time off. Opportunity to grow within a rapidly scaling manufacturing organization. Why Join Us:
This is a high-impact role at the core of our operations. You'll play a critical part in scaling our manufacturing capabilities, improving efficiency, and ensuring we deliver exceptional service to our clients. If you thrive in complex, fast-moving environments and enjoy building systems that work, we want to hear from you. How toApply:
