SUMMARY:

Primary Purpose:
The Shipping Manager will manage and coordinate the activities of the shipping department. The Shipping Manager will oversee shipping operations and execute the following tasks: understand and fulfill customer requirements in accordance with specific routing guides and vendor agreements, create advanced shipping notices (ASN's), maintain good communications with all carriers (TL / LTL / Small Package), create and review reports, interact with customer service, and reconcile finished goods inventory.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, direct, manage and evaluate the shipping activities and budget of the department. Conduct finished goods related inventory as required by the organization. Develop, train and continuously improve shipping operations policies and procedures. Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of the shipping operations. Perform day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining files and processing paperwork. Lead and attend daily meetings with other managers to coordinate activities to achieve daily production schedule and improve performance and productivity. Complete annual training program for maximum operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years' experience in shipping, 3PL or production environment. Good organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage several projects simultaneously. Ability to read and understand MRP is helpful. Understands monthly revenue targets / daily run rates. Communicates to team effectively to achieve monthly goals for the business. Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills. Must be adept at handling pressure in various customer and carrier situations and working well under deadlines.
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's Degree preferred in logistics, supply chain management, business administration or in a similar discipline. High School Diploma with relevant work experience will also be considered.
Management Responsibilities:
Manage of team of 8-12 individuals to route and load trucks for multiple direct to consumer and retail customers. Assist in the maintenance and reporting of the On-Time shipping metrics for all customers. Train and mentor the shipping teams and support onboarding of any new personnel.
