The ideal candidate would have 5+ years of Purchasing/Procurement/Sourcing experience, preferably in an aerospace or technical industry. Demonstrated skills in managing both internal and external customers, tracking commitments and personal follow-through is essential. Strong negotiation, organization, time management, continuous process efficiency improvement, excellent communication skills and the ability to represent the company in a professional manner are fundamental requirements. Today Ducommun is a global provider of innovative manufacturing solutions for customers in the aerospace, defense and industrial markets. We specialize in electronic and structural systems, producing complex products and components for commercial aircraft platforms, mission-critical military and space programs, and sophisticated industrial applications. BLR Aerospace, an industry leader in performance enhancing aerospace products, is currently seeking a full time Director of Engineering to design and deliver our strategic engineering efforts. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a growing company with an international brand. You will collaborate with our full team in our Everett office. Job Summary Identify, qualify, and select suppliers of materials, equipment, products, or services, and conduct overall supplier management. Develop mutually beneficial supplier working relationships Produce Request for Quotes (RFQs), negotiate pricing, contracts, lead-time, delivery dates, and oversee supplier performance. Create Purchase Orders, Blanket Purchase Orders and/or Master Agreements with suppliers and engage in all aspects of contract management. Ensure suppliers' performance is consistent with corporate objectives, particularly in quality, on-time delivery, cost management, and inventory turns. Monitor scheduled deliveries, consistent follow-up and manage part shortages and expedites. Process receipts, invoices, and related transactions, resolve any related issues Develop and implement supply chain strategies to optimize efficiency and reduce costs. Work in partnership with Production Control to ensure appropriate inventory levels. Effectively deliver communications and business presentations, reports, and forecasts to Leadership team, customers, vendors, and employees, highlighting key performance indicators, risks and recommendations for improvement. Work cross-functionally with Engineering & Manufacturing teams to understand product requirements and identify new supply partners to support both new product development and ongoing production. Collaborate with Quality Assurance on vendor audits, Supplier Scorecards, and measure key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement programs in supply chain quality, delivery and cost Manage RMA (Return Material Authorization) and RTV (Return to Vendor) process. Implement Lean Manufacturing principles to streamline processes. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by adhering to and improving policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to ensure process transparency, fairness, impartiality, and confidentiality. Support monthly financial closing by completing all transactions and credit card purchases reconciliation. Prepare quarterly supplier performance evaluation incorporating input from QA, Engineering primarily, as well as other stakeholders. Prepare presentation for conducting quarterly supplier business reviews focused Quality, Ontime Delivery and General Support. Perform monthly reconciliation of Open Purchase Order Report.
