We offer a wide product range including decorative fashion paints, durable industrial roof repair coatings and, of course, the famous rust-fighting formula that started it all. The primary result expected from the Materials Manager will be to plan, direct, or coordinate the activities of buyers, schedulers, and related workers by purchasing equipment, components, supplies, raw materials, or semi-finished materials for the manufacturing of paint and coatings. Typical tasks for this position include (but are not limited to) the following: Represent the company in negotiating contracts and formulating policies with suppliers. Direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in buying, selling, and distributing raw materials, equipment, finished goods, and supplies. Interview staff and oversee staff training. Locate vendors of materials, equipment, or supplies, and interview them to determine product availability and terms of sales. Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment. Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures. Maintain records of goods ordered and received. Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products, or substitute materials. Analyze market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability. Resolve vendor or contractor grievances and claims against suppliers. Required Skills Bachelor's degree in Business, Chemistry or Supply Chain. 5-10 years of management experience in manufacturing/chemical processing environment. Prior paint manufacturing experience preferred but not required. Ability to supervise/manage associates. Proven abilities to successfully drive continuous improvement, manage multiple priorities, and multitask. Ability to collaborate well with other peer groups. Good written and verbal communication skills. Strong computer skills. From big benefits to small, we take care of our associates!
