Equipment/Fleet Manager Mears is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Equipment and Fleet Manager to oversee the management and maintenance of our fleet of vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate would have a heavy equipment mechanic background and be familiar with DOT regulations. The Equipment Manager works closely with operations, vendors, and field leadership to keep equipment and fleet vehicles safe and reliable for our projects.

Salary:
$120,000 - $160,000, per year, paid semi monthly.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Oversight of fleet vehicles and equipment Manage daily operations of heavy equipment and construction vehicle fleets Ensure equipment and vehicles meet DOT and company safety requirements Support project teams by deploying equipment and monitoring availability Monitor fleet performance, usage, and costs to identify improvement opportunities Work closely with operations, project management, and field leadership to support jobsite needs Uphold strict safety protocols and model safe behavior for others. Schedule and track preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs, both internally and with external vendors Coordinate internal and external repair work to minimize downtime Assist with equipment lifecycle decisions, including replacement and acquisition Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, fleet inspections, and service history Evaluate vendor quotes, negotiate pricing, and oversee parts procurement Analyze vendor quotes and estimates for services and parts Other responsibilities as assigned
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
10 years' experience in Equipment maintenance, Heavy Equipment mechanic, Fleet Management or similar role Strong working knowledge of heavy equipment, commercial vehicles, and maintenance practices Understanding of DOT regulations Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills Project Management Skills Negotiation Skills The physical activity required for this role includes: Travel as needed for site visits Walking on uneven and variable terrain Sitting, standing, walking for extended periods in an office environment Frequently standing, walking, stooping, reaching, climbing, bending and reaching Manual dexterity for computer use, files and office equipment Occasionally lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds Pass pre-employment drug screen and background check This role is accepting applications until filled.
