TRANSPORTATION MANAGER

DISCRIPTION
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Transportation Manager to oversee daily fleet operations, ensure full regulatory compliance, and lead driver onboarding and performance management. This role is critical to maintaining safe, efficient, and cost-effective transportation operations while supporting overall business performance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage full driver onboarding process, including hiring, screening, and compliance documentation Oversee IFTA reporting, fuel tax tracking, and mileage accuracy Coordinate and track truck maintenance schedules, repairs, and inspections Monitor and manage ELD systems for compliance, driver logs, and HOS regulations Conduct driver performance reviews and implement improvement plans as needed Purchase and manage permits, registrations, and regulatory filings Ensure compliance with FMCSA and DOT regulations Maintain driver qualification (DQ) files and ongoing compliance tracking Coordinate with dispatch and operations teams to optimize fleet efficiency Manage vendor relationships for maintenance, fuel, and equipment
EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience Proven experience in trucking, logistics, or fleet management Strong knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and IFTA regulations Experience with ELD systems (e.g., Motive or similar platforms) Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar systems Valid driver's license with the ability to operate a motor vehicle
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods Manual dexterity for typing, filing, and operating office equipment Visual and hearing acuity to effectively perform job duties Ability to lift and move office supplies and equipment as needed Mobility to navigate office and jobsite environments
WORKING CONDITIONS
Occasional jobsite visits requiring adherence to safety protocols Exposure to varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, humidity, and wet environments Moderate to high exposure to production and outdoor environments (plant-specific) Ability to work outdoors year-round as needed This position profile identifies the key responsibilities and expectations for performance.
