Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Fleet Manager to oversee our fleet operations and ensure the efficient management of vehicles. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the fleet, optimizing vehicle utilization, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Duties Manage the daily operations of the fleet, including scheduling maintenance and repairs for all vehicles. Monitor vehicle performance and implement strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding vehicle operation and safety standards. Develop and maintain a fleet management system to track vehicle usage, maintenance schedules, and fuel consumption. Coordinate with drivers to address any issues or concerns related to vehicle operation. Prepare reports on fleet performance metrics and present findings to upper management. Train and supervise staff involved in fleet operations, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures. Collaborate with other departments to support logistics and transportation needs. Requirements Proven experience as a Fleet Manager or in a similar role within transportation or logistics. Strong knowledge of fleet management software and tools. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Strong analytical skills to assess vehicle performance data and make informed decisions. Exceptional communication skills for interacting with drivers, vendors, and management. Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards related to fleet operations. A valid CDL is required; additional certifications in fleet management are a plus. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
