Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to oversee the day-to-day management, maintenance, and optimization of our fleet of trucks and trailers. This role is critical in ensuring our fleet operates efficiently, remains compliant with all regulatory requirements, and supports the company's operational and safety goals. The Fleet Manager collaborates closely with drivers, dispatchers, mechanics, and leadership to ensure seamless operations and high performance across the fleet. Key ResponsibilitiesFleet Maintenance & Compliance Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime Ensure full compliance with DOT and all federal, state, and local regulations Oversee vehicle inspections, servicing, and repairs in coordination with maintenance staff Maintain accurate maintenance and compliance records Driver Support & Coordination Work with dispatch and operations teams to assign vehicles based on routes and load demands Monitor driver reports and troubleshoot vehicle performance issues Provide timely support and resolution for driver-reported concerns Fleet Optimization & Cost Management Track fuel usage, tire wear, and key metrics to improve efficiency Identify and implement cost-saving strategies while maintaining service quality Evaluate and recommend fleet technologies to enhance performance and tracking Vendor & Inventory Management Manage vendor relationships for parts, repairs, and external services Maintain inventory levels of critical parts and supplies Negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effective and timely service delivery Reporting & Analysis Prepare reports on fleet performance, maintenance costs, and utilization Analyze operational data to identify trends and improvement opportunities Provide regular KPI updates to senior leadership Team Leadership Supervise mechanics, shop personnel, and fleet-related staff Conduct safety and compliance training Evaluate team performance and provide coaching to enhance productivity

Qualifications Education:

Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Transportation Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)

Experience:

5+ years of fleet management experience in trucking or logistics Strong knowledge of truck and trailer maintenance and DOT regulations

Skills:

Proficiency with fleet management software (TMS or similar) Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Analytical mindset with a focus on efficiency and cost control Strong problem-solving capabilities Certifications (Preferred): Fleet Management or Maintenance Management certification Vista Trans Holding is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer.
