Kaiser Aluminum is seeking an experienced Transportation Coordinator to join our Logistics team at Warrick Operations in Newburgh, Indiana. This position is responsible for coordinating inbound and outbound transportation activities while supporting multiple business functions across the facility. The successful candidate will work closely with Planning, Commercial, Customer Service, Pack/Ship, Operations, and external transportation providers to ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective movement of materials in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
What you will work on:
Schedule/Monitor Truck Shipments Work with Shipping Locations to resolve daily tactical issues related to transportation Schedule and secure freight daily at lowest cost for inbound and outbound materials that affect multiple areas across Kaiser Operations Manage Carrier Performance Reporting Tracking and reporting metrics for carrier performance daily Provide internal reporting tools for carrier performance Develop and maintain carrier ranking system using and maintaining carrier scorecard Issue quarterly performance reports to carriers Maintain ISO documentation Support the Warrick Logistics Manager with continuous improvement of all shipping routes Deploy and maintain proper help chains, including Customer Supply Guidelines with the Commercial group Provide support for initiatives in the logistics and shipping areas. Enable change through employee involvement, waste elimination, daily management and problem solving, and continuous improvement. Additional duties as requested.
