Louisville, KY Job Details 11 hours ago Qualifications Customer communication Team leadership High school diploma or GED Task prioritization Full Job Description The Transportation Manager leads all daily Direct Store Delivery (DSD) operations, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient service execution. This role is responsible for managing drivers, scheduling, fleet readiness, customer relationships, and performance outcomes. The Transportation Manager partners closely with internal teams, customers, and leadership to support service excellence, control costs, and proactively resolve operational challenges. What You'll Do Lead and manage all DSD drivers and operational staff Oversee daily scheduling, route coverage, and staffing to ensure consistent service levels Serve as a primary point of contact for customers, maintaining strong communication and service relationships Monitor operations to proactively identify and resolve service, safety, or performance issues Ensure fleet equipment is properly maintained, compliant, and ready for daily operations Partner with the Safety Manager to identify and correct unsafe conditions and driver behaviors Track transportation costs, KPIs, and performance metrics to drive efficiency and improvement Collaborate with internal teams to plan for forecasted volume and capacity needs Work with Human Resources on employee relations matters, including coaching, corrective action, policy interpretation, and terminations, in compliance with employment laws Promote a strong safety culture and accountability across the operation Ensure departmental goals and budget expectations are met What We're Looking For High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred Minimum 2 years of management or team leadership experience , ideally in transportation, logistics, or delivery operations Strong organizational, time‑management, and problem‑solving skills Excellent communication skills with a customer‑focused mindset Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment Willingness to travel as needed Flexibility to work weekends and holidays based on operational needs Why This Role Matters You'll play a key role in keeping our DSD network running safely, efficiently, and reliably—supporting both our drivers and our customers while helping Caruso USA continue to deliver fresh food solutions every day.
