POSITION SUMMARY
Salary Range:
$57,000-$65,000 Full Time with Benefits Under the direction of the Executive Director of Education, plan, organize and manage scheduling, routes, drivers and fleets; help grow and sustain education and transportation services; perform the duties of a School Bus or Van Driver when necessary.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Work with the Executive Director of Education to develop and coordinate all bus routes. Manage a staff of up to ten (10) bus and van drivers and twenty (20) bus monitors. Responsible for covering any driver shifts (morning, noon or evening). Work with Association staff to manage field trips. Upkeep the maintenance records for all drivers and vehicles. Follow Association policies, procedures and regulations. Monitor and report driver issues such as accidents, safety concerns or licensing. Handle customer complaints and investigate issues including lateness, damages or loss. Negotiate contracts with outside transportation companies and recommend cost effective methods of transportation. Be fiscally responsible for the transportation department; create and manage a budget; raise revenue outside those received from parents for daily transportation. Role model acceptable behavior, demonstrate maturity and use sound judgment when decision-making.
QUALIFICATIONS
Familiarity with YMCA policies and procedures. Knowledgeable of state, DOT and RMV rules and regulations. A valid Special Driver School Bus Certificate and Massachusetts Bus Driver Instructor Certificate. H.S. or equivalent. One (1) year bus driving experience. Valid Class B Driver's license with school bus, safety and passenger endorsements. A clean driving record. A track record of safe practices working with children. First Aid, CPR/AED certification. Good oral and written communication Must be able to multi-task and work under time constraints; attention to detail.
