This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys building systems and improving processes. We are looking for a hands-on individual who can evaluate our current fleet program, implement better tracking and technology, develop strong vendor relationships, control repair and maintenance costs, and build a long-term plan for our vehicles. What You'll Do As Fleet Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and long-term planning of our company vehicle fleet.
Responsibilities include:
Manage and maintain accurate records for all company vehicles Develop and maintain a preventive maintenance program Track oil changes, scheduled maintenance, inspections, repairs, and other service requirements Monitor manufacturer recalls and coordinate required recall work Coordinate vehicle repairs and minimize vehicle downtime Establish and maintain relationships with dealerships, repair facilities, tire vendors, and other fleet service providers Obtain competitive pricing and negotiate with vendors to help control fleet costs Track repair and maintenance expenses by vehicle Identify vehicles with excessive maintenance costs or reliability issues Utilize fleet management technology and GPS data to improve vehicle tracking, maintenance, and reporting Review our existing fleet processes and recommend new technology and procedures Maintain vehicle documentation, service history, and related fleet records Develop a long-term vehicle replacement schedule based on age, mileage, condition, maintenance costs, and business needs Assist with purchasing and onboarding replacement vehicles Coordinate vehicle assignments and help ensure vehicles are properly equipped and ready for employees Continuously look for opportunities to reduce costs, improve reliability, and make our fleet operation more efficient What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who is organized, comfortable with technology, and capable of taking ownership of the fleet program.
The right candidate should have:
Experience with fleet management, automotive service, vehicle maintenance, transportation, or a related field Strong organizational and recordkeeping skills Ability to manage multiple vehicles, maintenance schedules, vendors, and priorities Strong computer and technology skills Ability to research repair options and compare vendor pricing Good communication and vendor-management skills A proactive approach to identifying and solving problems Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Experience implementing fleet management software, GPS systems, maintenance tracking systems, or other fleet technology is a plus.
