Job Description

Overview We are seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to oversee all aspects of our company's vehicle fleet operations. This role includes managing fleet administration, maintenance, compliance, budgeting, and team supervision. The Fleet Manager ensures safe, efficient, and cost-effective fleet operations while supporting drivers and company goals. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage all fleet operations, including scheduling, maintenance, and vehicle assignments. Enforce fleet policies, procedures, and compliance with DOT, state, and local regulations. Oversee preventive maintenance programs, repair schedules, and vendor relationships. Participate in developing and managing the annual fleet operating and capital budgets. Lead the procurement of vehicles, equipment, and fleet-related services Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities. Supervise fleet staff, including fleet purchasers, mechanics, fabricators, and others as applicable. Maintain fleet records, including registrations, inspections, insurance, and driver documentation. Implement fleet tracking systems (GPS, telematics, AI monitoring) to optimize utilization and efficiency. Help coordinate procurement and disposal of fleet vehicles and equipment. Generate reports on fleet performance, utilization, and costs for senior management. Ensure safety programs are followed, incidents are documented, and corrective actions are implemented. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in logistics, business, or related field preferred (high school diploma with extensive experience considered). 5+ years of fleet management or supervisory experience, preferably with commercial or heavy vehicles. Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, vehicle maintenance, and fleet compliance standards. Experience with fleet management software and GPS/telematics systems. Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong budget management and analytical skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience managing a large fleet (100+ vehicles). Strong negotiation skills with vendors and service providers. Certifications in fleet management (e.g., NAFA Fleet Management Certification) a plus. •
