Job Description

Position Summary Looks Great Services of MS, Inc. is seeking an experienced and highly organized Fleet Manager to oversee and manage our nationwide fleet of vehicles, trailers, heavy equipment, and operational assets. Our company specializes in right-of-way clearing, vegetation management, and disaster recovery services for utility companies across the United States. The Fleet Manager will be responsible for tracking, maintaining, and optimizing more than 500 fleet assets operating across multiple states. This position plays a critical role in ensuring equipment readiness, regulatory compliance, cost control, and operational efficiency during both routine operations and emergency storm response deployments. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of managing fast-paced logistics in a demanding field operations environment. Key Responsibilities Fleet & Asset Management Maintain oversight of 500+ company assets including bucket trucks, pickup trucks, heavy equipment, trailers, and specialty utility equipment Track asset locations, utilization, status, and availability nationwide Maintain accurate fleet records including inspections and maintenance history Implement and manage fleet tracking systems and asset databases Maintenance & Repairs Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime Manage repairs and emergency breakdowns across multiple states Work with internal mechanics and third-party vendors to ensure timely service Monitor maintenance costs and equipment performance trends Ensure all equipment remains safe and operational for field crews Compliance & Safety Ensure fleet compliance with DOT regulations, OSHA requirements, state and federal transportation laws, and utility contractor standards Monitor driver qualification files, inspections, and compliance documentation Assist with accident investigations and incident reporting Promote fleet safety standards and operational accountability assist with safety recalls on all assets Disaster Response Coordination Support emergency storm restoration and disaster recovery mobilizations Coordinate rapid deployment of vehicles and equipment during emergency response events Track deployed assets and ensure operational readiness during large-scale recovery operations Assist operations leadership with logistical planning during storm events Vendor & Cost Management Manage relationships with repair facilities, fuel vendors, equipment suppliers, and leasing providers Review and approve repair estimates and invoices Monitor fuel usage, maintenance expenses, and overall fleet operating costs Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce expenses Reporting & Communication Generate reports related to fleet utilization, downtime, maintenance schedules, compliance status, and asset inventory Communicate regularly with operations managers, field supervisors, mechanics, and executive leadership Qualifications Required Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Experience with fleet management software and GPS tracking systems Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Ability to work in fast-paced and emergency-response environments Work Environment Office-based with regular interaction in shop and yard environments May require occasional travel Must be available during storm and emergency response events, including extended hours when necessary Physical Requirements Ability to inspect vehicles and equipment in outdoor environments Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally Ability to walk yards and job sites as needed Benefits Competitive salary Health insurance Paid time off Retirement plan Career advancement opportunities Position Impact This role is essential to ensuring Looks Great Services maintains a reliable, compliant, and operational fleet capable of supporting utility customers nationwide during both daily operations and emergency disaster response efforts.
