Bus Matron Supervisor

Position Summary The Bus Matron Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily transportation support operations, including the supervision of 40+ bus routes and assigned matrons. This role ensures full route coverage, compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and consistent, high-quality support for students. The Supervisor serves as the primary point of contact for matrons, providing guidance, coaching, and operational oversight while supporting the Branch Manager in coordinating all route service activities. Key Responsibilities Supervise and manage 40+ bus matrons and daily route operations to ensure all routes are fully staffed and covered Serve as the primary contact for matrons, responding to questions and providing real-time operational support Coach and guide staff on student behavior management, incident response, and appropriate documentation practices Ensure timely collection, review, and submission of incident reports and daily attendance sheets Review, verify, and approve employee timesheets in alignment with company and client requirements Monitor attendance, identify coverage gaps, and coordinate staffing adjustments as needed Understand and execute proper escalation protocols for incidents, safety concerns, and performance issues Participate in employee disciplinary actions, up to and including terminations, in coordination with management and HR Conduct ongoing orientations and training sessions for new hires throughout the school year Ensure all matrons adhere to company policies, DOE regulations, and safety procedures at all times Assist in resolving route issues and maintaining continuity of service Step in to cover routes or ride buses as needed to maintain service levels Support the Branch Manager in planning, directing, and coordinating route service operations Provide training and ongoing development for staff in all areas of route operations Maintain daily operational oversight to ensure safe, timely, and quality service delivery Qualifications & Requirements High School Diploma or GED required Minimum of 2+ years of supervisory or transportation-related experience preferred Strong verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and influence staff effectively Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Willingness to work an on-call rotation as needed Clean driving record preferred Core Competencies Leadership and accountability mindset Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Team-oriented with a collaborative approach Positive, professional, and proactive attitude Ability to remain calm and responsive in high-pressure situations Physical Requirements & Work Environment Ability to work in a fast-paced, active environment May be required to ride and/or transport on school buses daily as needed Ability to ascend and descend stairs at branch and school locations A combination of indoor and outdoor work environments Additional Requirements Typical work schedule is 40 hours per week during school days and hours Must be available during school operating times Required to complete and clear Department of Education (DOE) fingerprinting prior to start Must comply with all DOE/vendor compliance and safety standards

$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
