Job Description
Town of Westerly - Senior Center Nutrition Site Manager/Transportation Coordinator The Town of Westerly Senior Center Department is accepting applications for the position of Nutrition Site Manager/Transportation Coordinator. This position will oversee the meal site and transportation programs. The Nutrition Site Manager is critical in maintaining the nutritional health and social connection of senior center members and seniors within the overall community.
Position Overview:
- Develop and implement meaningful activities and meals for the Senior Center.
- Ensure all meals provided meet Senior Nutrition Program Dietary Guidelines.
- Coordinate and schedule, in advance, the lunch menu and meals for Senior Center members and members of the community.
- Provide clear oral and written communication to staff, volunteers and seniors of the program.
- Oversee kitchen staff to ensure the kitchen is maintained and sanitary as required by local health codes.
- Maintain the rules and regulations set forth by the state/local authority and all requirements of the contracted vendor for meal site program.
- Report meal counts to the contracted vendor for the meal site program
- Keep all files and records up to date and keep current on new programs, techniques and equipment.
- Order food and supplies in a timely fashion based on menu requirements.
- Maintain accurate inventory of food, supplies and equipment; all food must be properly stored, labeled, and rotated on shelves.
- Assist in the serving of meals if backup staff is needed during emergencies.
- Schedule the transportation driver's hours.
- Assist clients with the weekly reservation system for the state-sponsored transportation program (MTM), which brings clients directly to and from the meal site.
- Report client counts to MTM according to their schedule demands for the following week.
- Report all changes and pick-up errors directly to the MTM office to assure maximum efficiency of the system.

Qualifications & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of one (1) year of prior experience in food service or related field.
- Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully perform the essential job functions of this position
Licenses and Certifications:
- A valid driver's license.
- SERV Safe Food Manager certification or the ability to obtain one within one (1) month of hire.
- First Aid/CPR certification or ability to obtain one within one (1) year of hire.
