Job Description

Dispatcher/Driver Manager Laredo, TX Oak Truck Lines is seeking an experienced Driver Manager to help oversee our daily fleet operations and support our drivers. This role helps keep trucks moving safely and on time while making sure drivers, dispatch, customer service, and maintenance all stay connected and informed. This position is great for someone who is organized, communicates well, and can handle a fast-paced work environment. Key Responsibilities Fleet Tracking & Scheduling Check the status of trucks and drivers during the day and log updates in the McLeod system. Track which units are available to return for new loads. Make sure assigned trucks match service hours for best use of equipment. Driver Communication Stay in regular contact with drivers about loads, routes, and delays. Use company phones and GPS systems to track driver movement. Help relay updates between drivers and customer service when needed. Maintenance & Incident Reporting Report trucks or trailers that need repairs and follow up on progress. Report road incidents and make sure the right departments are informed. Payroll, Mileage & Fuel Tracking Help process driver payroll including hours, miles, and bonuses. Monitor monthly mileage goals Track fuel usage Safety, Compliance & Driver Reports Make sure drivers follow safety rules, DOT laws, and company policies. Work with the Safety Department to track service hours. Document driver behavior, rest time, and time off. Attend safety meetings and help reinforce company safety standards. Requirements & Skills Experience 3-5 years of experience in dispatch, fleet operations, logistics, or transportation preferred. Education High school diploma required College courses in logistics, business, or transportation are a plus. System Skills (Required & Preferred) Ability to learn and use fleet tracking, GPS, and transportation systems is required. McLeod system knowledge is highly preferred and will strongly set the candidate apart. Comfortable using email, messaging platforms, and computer reporting systems.
