About Gallegos Paving Gallegos Paving, LLC is a family-owned and operated construction and paving company proudly serving Laredo and South Texas for more than 10 years. We provide asphalt and concrete paving, underground utilities, milling, stabilizing, and general sitework. Position Summary Gallegos Paving is seeking an experienced and organized Fleet Manager to oversee the maintenance, repair, and overall management of our fleet of construction equipment, trucks, vehicles, and machinery. The Fleet Manager will ensure equipment is properly maintained, repaired, inspected, and available for daily operations while overseeing Service Technicians, preventive maintenance, repairs, parts, vendors, and maintenance records. Responsibilities Oversee maintenance and repairs for Company construction equipment, trucks, vehicles, trailers, and machinery. Manage preventive maintenance schedules, inspections, and required repairs. Monitor equipment condition, availability, and downtime. Prioritize repairs based on safety, jobsite needs, and operational priorities. Manage Service Technicians and assign and follow up on maintenance and repair work. Coordinate equipment breakdowns and field repairs to minimize downtime. Maintain accurate equipment maintenance and repair records. Track service intervals, mileage, equipment hours, and upcoming maintenance. Coordinate parts, outside repairs, dealerships, suppliers, and other vendors. Monitor repair and maintenance costs and identify recurring equipment issues. Ensure equipment is safe and properly inspected before returning to service. Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient shop and maintenance operation. Communicate equipment status and needs with supervisors, project managers, operators, and management. Assist management in evaluating equipment that may require major repairs or replacement. Perform other fleet and maintenance duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous fleet management, heavy equipment maintenance, construction equipment, diesel mechanic, or related experience preferred. Strong knowledge of heavy equipment, trucks, diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and general mechanical maintenance. Experience managing preventive maintenance and repair schedules. Supervisory or leadership experience preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize multiple equipment and repair needs. Experience maintaining fleet and repair records. Basic computer and fleet maintenance tracking skills. Strong attention to safety and quality. Valid driver's license required.
