  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent job experience with an emphasis in Administrative Management Experience
  • Possesses three years supervisory experience in student operations
  • Texas Commercial Drivers License - Class A or B with Passenger and School Bus Endorsement
  • Texas School Bus Driver Certification
POSITION FUNCTION/PURPOSE
Assists the Director of Transportation in the administration of the school transportation operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Personnel Management 1. Supervise and manage driver acquisition training and assignments. 2. Supervise driver recruiting, training and assignment programs. 3. Supervise regular and special needs bus routing. 4. Supervise the drug and alcohol district testing program. 5. Supervise the selection, hiring, assignment and evaluation of school bus drivers. 6. Provide Recommendations regarding personnel matters, route and service center management. 7. Promote an organizational climate resulting in positive staff morale. School/Organization Climate 8. Function as liaison to community, campus and district programs. 9. Serve as liaison in maintaining good report with students, parents, campuses and community. Administration and Fiscal/Facilities Management 10. Provide support to develop and manage department budget. 11. Ensure department complies with fiscal management and budget regulations guidelines. 12. Provide supervisory authority over operational and financial functions of the Transportation Department. 13. Comply and maintain MISD and Texas State Education Agency Transportation Reports. 14. Direct and manage school bus fleet maintenance operations. 15. Manage coach bus fleet, maintenance and operations. 16. Ensure all facilities and fleet equipment is kept in good repair. Student Management 17. Supervise the department's student management. 18. Comply with local, state and federal regulations in regard to student transportation operations. 19. Ensure student transportation routes and schedules comply with district policy. Professional Growth and Development 9. Supervise the department safety and training program.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Possesses excellent human relations and personnel management skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Display strong computer skills in transportation management programs
