Per Year E266 Director of Transportation Ops
Oversees and/or performs traffic engineering studies and warranting of traffic signals, signing and speed zones; analyzes operational impact on state highway system of proposed developments; coordinates with others on project development.
Oversees the installation, maintenance and repair of illumination systems, flashing beacons, flashing signs, flashing school speed zone signs, navigation lights and lift stations.
Oversees the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of all transportation management systems, traffic signals and radios including negotiating, administering and monitoring contracts.
Oversees Traffic Operations, Community Traffic Safety Programs and the preparation of the District Highway Safety Plan.
Oversees transportation operations related activities for the district.
Responsible for determining the need for, and developing plans, specifications and estimates for transportation management systems and Intelligent Transportation System (ITS).Responsible for determining the need for, and developing plans, specifications and estimates for transportation projects including signs, traffic signals, illumination, turn lanes, speed zones, school zones, pavement markings.
Responsible for Railroad Programs.
Responsible for Striping Operations.
Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting directly to the District Engineer, manages a group of professional, technical and administrative employees and may oversee district wide construction contract work concerning transportation operations. Work requires contact with governmental officials and private entities. Employees at this level are virtually self-supervising and assume direct accountability for the work product.Essential Duties:
