PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
As theSupervisor,Intermodal& Automotive Operations, you will oversee and coordinate terminal activities to ensure efficient train handling, loading and unloading of railcars, and execution ofintermodaland automotive processes. This role focuses on safety, operational performance, resource allocation, and delivering exceptional service in alignment with company standards and priorities.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES
Direct and manage yard operations to meet train schedules, customer expectations, and performance targets
Provide leadership and guidance to terminal staff responsible for executing yard processes
Collaborate with internal departments including Mechanical, Train & Engine, Engineering, and the Operations Center, to ensure seamless execution of operational plans
Issue clear and timely instructions for train movements and yard activities.
Coordinate all terminal functions, including hostler, lifter, and truck operations.
Maintain accurate and timely updates in operational systems
Ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and effectively communicated across shifts and teams
Monitor compliance, identify opportunities for process improvement, and escalate issues as necessary
Lead safety initiatives, including efficiency testing, safety meetings, driver interactions, walkabouts, and securement audits
Manage terminal inventory within assigned areas of responsibility
Ensure adherence to company policies, safety regulations, and collective agreements
Oversee operations related to perishables, ensuring service excellence and safe execution of terminal plans
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or General Equivalency required
2 years' experience in railroad or terminal operations
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions
Ability to quickly learn and utilize systems such as OASIS, TMS, RPM, and TYES
Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
Experience working with a unionized workforce preferred
Excellent communication skills and openness to constructive feedback
Flexibility to work in a 24/7 operational environment as required
Valid driver's license

Medical and Drug Testing This is a safety sensitive position and a successful pre-employment medical assessment including physical, vision, hearing, and a negative company or regulated drug test is required.
