Supervisor Bridge Tunnel Virginia Department of Transportation - 3.7 Hampton, VA Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications Report preparation Computer operation Computer literacy Safety regulations Regulatory compliance In-person customer service Compliance with security regulations Audio systems Driver's License Driving Public safety procedures Telecommunications systems Computer skills Equipment maintenance Emergency communication Traffic control for work zones Training Safety standard operating procedures Traffic management systems Full Job Description Supervise operational functions such as traffic control, public safety, communications, removal of disabled vehicles and enforcement of facility regulations during an assigned shift in an emergency situation of bridges and tunnels.
How you will contribute:
Program Compliance:
Remain current in technical changes that may affect the operation of equipment. Ensure that proper and accurate information is transmitted through the newly activated 511 system. Ensure that all requirements of the Virginia Work Area Protection Manual are being met and provide regulation of traffic using Standard Operating Procedures and other applicable regulations and policies.
Project Management:
Direct and coordinate the operation of traffic management systems, electrical control systems and field operations. Direct all security functions affecting the on-going 24 -7 operations of the facility as well as ensuring that all proper security requirements are being met. Coordinate and ensure timely execution and notification of road closures, bridge restrictions and suspicious activity which may affect the facilities.

Ability to lead, direct and train others in routine and emergency situations. Ability to operate traffic management, telecommunications and audio equipment. Knowledge of bridge operations. Knowledge of safety and security principles and practices. Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of equipment used on bridges, tunnels and roadways. Skill in basic computer operations. Skill in emergency vehicle operations. Skill in providing good customer service.
Minimum Qualifications:

Skill in emergency vehicle operations. Skill in providing good customer service. Valid driver's license.
Additional Considerations:
