Schedule:
(Monday/ Tuesday, Thursday/ Friday/ Saturday)
Salary:
$68k to $75k (DOE•Depending on Experience) United Salad Co. is one of the area's largest family owned distributors of fresh produce, grocery and foodservice products across the Pacific Northwest region. Retirement Plan Responsibilities:
Supervise and oversee the day-to-day operations of the transportation team, ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of goods to customers. Coordinate and assign routes to drivers, optimizing delivery schedules to meet customer demands. Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and safety standards, including vehicle maintenance and driver qualifications. Monitor driver performance and provide coaching and feedback as needed to improve efficiency and customer service. Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, including delivery schedules, vehicle inspections, and driver logs. Address any issues or concerns that arise during transportation operations, including vehicle breakdowns, accidents, or delays. Collaborate with other departments, such as warehouse and customer service, to streamline processes and improve overall efficiency. Implement and enforce company policies and procedures related to transportation operations. Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization within the transportation department. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in logistics, transportation management, or a related field preferred but not required Minimum of 3 years of experience in transportation operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage a team of drivers and support staff. Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards, including DOT regulations. Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering high-quality customer service. Proficiency in transportation management software (TMS) and MS Office applications. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings and weekends, as needed. Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route optimization software is a plus. Position is contingent upon a successful background check, MVR, and ability to pass a drug screen, including THC.
