TRANSPORTATION COORDINATOR -- MAILROOM -- MEMORIAL HOSPITAL

68453) Job Summary Responsible for coordinating all supply chain delivery activities and personnel. This role will ensure all shipments into and out of the organization are handled quickly, safely, and within budget constraints. Will work closely with the Material Handling Center and with Linen Services on shipment coordination for all linen and material deliveries to CAMC and other contracted locations. Responsible for tracking all preventive maintenance, licensing and registration for all fleet vehicles, as well as implementing and managing fleet management software. Responsibilities
  • Must possess and maintain a West Virginia driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Assist developing and implement policies and procedures for supply chain transportation operations
  • Coordinate transportation personnel as well as equipment
  • Oversee shipment coordination and routing within Material Handling Center and in conjunction with Linen Services
  • Ensure that customer problems are researched and resolved
  • Responsible for staying current with various regulations including those related to hazardous shipments, employee safety, and freight classifications
  • Coordinate the maintenance, repair, and replacement of shipping equipment or vehicles
  • Monitor operations to ensure that staff members comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules and government regulations
  • Assist in developing and maintaining the vehicle fleet data base in tracking software (Geotab)
  • Conduct investigations to determine causes of transportation accidents and to improve safety procedures
  • Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships throughout the system
  • Register, license, and title fleet vehicles.
Obtain fleet gas cards, insurance cards and any other required documents for fleet vehicle operations. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Patient Group Knowledge (Only applies to positions with direct patient contact) The employee must possess/obtain (by the end of the orientation period) and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment or care as defined by the department's identified patient ages. Specifically the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients. Competency Statement Must demonstrate competency through an initial orientation and ongoing competency validation to independently perform tasks and additional duties as specified in the job description and the unit/department specific competency checklist. Perform work in alignment with the overall mission and strategic plan of the organization. 8. Follow organizational and departmental policies and procedures, as applicable. 9.
