Painting Crew Lead (Working Foreman) About the Role We're looking for a hands-on Painting Crew Lead who paints alongside their crew while also managing the job. This isn't a desk or clipboard-only role — you'll be up on the ladder doing the work, setting the pace and quality standard for your team, while also handling materials, scheduling, and crew management. Responsibilities Work as the lead painter on your crew — hands-on painting, prep, and finish work on most jobs Supervise and direct crew members throughout the workday Pick up paint, supplies, and equipment needed for each job Assign daily tasks and ensure the crew follows company standards and safety practices Set the quality benchmark by example — your work reflects the standard for the crew Review job specs and ensure proper prep, application, and finish work Keep jobs on schedule and on budget Conduct final quality checks before marking a job complete Communicate with the office/management on job status, material needs, and any issues Train and mentor newer painters on technique and pace Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site Handle minor client questions or concerns on-site professionally Requirements 3+ years of professional painting experience (interior and/or exterior) — must be able to paint at a high level daily, not just supervise 1+ years in a lead, foreman, or supervisor role Strong knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and prep work Ability to read job orders/specs and manage time efficiently Comfortable being the primary hands-on painter for most of the workday Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work on ladders/scaffolding, and be on your feet most of the day Strong communication and leadership skills Strong problem-solving skills — able to make sound decisions on-site without constant supervision Self-motivated and reliable — shows up on time, takes initiative, and follows through Comfortable making judgment calls (material shortages, schedule conflicts, minor client issues) and knowing when to escalate to management Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred What We Offer Competitive pay based on experience $26•$32 an hour Year-round, steady work Opportunity for growth within the company
