Job Description
Position Summary Tim Anglin Grading is seeking a dependable, experienced Equipment Operator / Utility Crew Leader to join our team. This position requires someone who can safely operate heavy equipment, install underground utilities, and manage a job site independently from start to finish. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, takes pride in quality work, and can work with minimal supervision while maintaining a safe and productive job site. Primary Responsibilities Operate heavy equipment including dozers, excavators, rollers, skid steers, loaders, and other construction equipment. Install underground utilities including storm drain, water, and sewer pipe. Read and interpret grade stakes, plans, and construction drawings. Perform grading, site preparation, and finish work to specifications. Manage day-to-day activities on assigned job sites. Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and project managers as needed. Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project schedules. Conduct routine equipment inspections and report maintenance needs. Assist with labor tasks as needed to support the crew. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience in grading, sitework, and underground utility construction. Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment. Ability to install pipe and understand utility layouts and elevations. Ability to work independently and oversee a project without constant supervision. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. CDL is a plus but not required. Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail. Physical Requirements Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to climb on and off heavy equipment and work on uneven terrain.
