We are a well-established Moving & Storage Company serving the Chicago area. Our focus is on providing top-notch moving services for both residential and commercial clients. We pride ourselves on delivering safe, reliable, and efficient service, and we are looking for dedicated Van Operators to join our team. Position Overview:
We are seeking experienced Household Goods Van Operators with A, B, or C class licenses to lead moving crews and ensure the safe, damage-free transport of household goods, furniture, electronics, and other commodities. This is a crucial leadership role, where you will be directly responsible for supervising a crew and ensuring the highest standards of service, safety, and customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for operating commercial vehicles, coordinating team activities, and maintaining compliance with all safety regulations. Experienced helpers may apply as well.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the
Moving Crew:
Supervise and direct a team of movers engaged in the safe and efficient packing, loading, transporting, and unloading of household goods and other items.
Safe Vehicle Operation:
Operate commercial vehicles safely and in accordance with DOT guidelines and regulations.
Customer Service Excellence:
Provide exceptional service to clients by ensuring that their personal belongings are transported with care and that all customer interactions are professional.
Supervise Crew Performance:
Monitor and ensure that all crew members follow company procedures and safety protocols.
Physical Labor:
Perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying heavy items.
Paperwork & Documentation:
Complete all required documentation and paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
Problem Solving:
Use strong communication and problem-solving skills to address challenges and ensure smooth operations during moves. Adhere to
Safety Standards:
Maintain a drug-free status and pass background checks as this is a safety-sensitive position.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Previous moving or household goods experience is preferred, but not required.
Licensing:
Must have a valid A, B (CDL), or C license.
Physical Fitness:
Ability to lift and carry heavy items.
Communication Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to perform basic math for inventory and logistics.
Leadership:
Demonstrated ability to lead a team and ensure the success of moving projects.
Safety Commitment:
Must be drug-free and capable of passing background checks as required by DOT regulations.
Compensation:
Pay:
$23.00 - $28.00 per hour (Based on Experience & License Type)
